Guy Handscombe and Jonathan Jones have named their respective squads for the Regions Cup matches in May.

North will meet South as the two teams, as the two teams made up mainly of second-tier players after a change to the qualification criteria, will play over two legs.

The winner of the two legs will then go on to represent Wales at the UEFA Regions Cup in November, which will be hosted in Northern Ireland.

Managers were unable to call upon players that have either been signed to a professional contract or once played in the Cymru Premier, as per the ruling from UEFA.

Guy Handscombe, who was most recently the manager of Ardal Leagues outfit Corwen has named a squad that is made up mainly of players from Conwy Borough, Ruthin Town, and Holywell Town.

Colwyn Bay and Guilsfield then have two players each with Sam Downey and Jordan Carrington representing the Gulls and Chris Cathrall, along with Jamie Hyne being the Guils representative.

Third-tier players such as Rob Dascalu from Llanuwchllyn and Llanrwst United’s Callum Parry have also been included with Parry scoring 27 goals in 24 appearances for the Rwsters.

Fans of the North side can watch them on April 30 as they take on Caernarfon Town at Conwy Borough’s Y Morfa in preparation for the match.

Meanwhile, in the South, seven of Llantwit Major’s title-winning side have been named, adding as an extra reward for their success.

Goalkeeper Jack Lansdowne along with Kris Evans, Dafydd Owen, Connor Goldsworthy, Sean Williams, Nathan Jones, and Josh Jones are included.

But there is no room for top scorer Thomas Walters, who is ineligible, and will be a big blow given his 24 goals this season.

“Honour and privilege,” tweeted defender Sean Williams after the announcement. Hopefully, we can do Wales and the Major proud!”

Jonathan Jones, manager of the South, has named six of his own players in the team too with Morgan Davies, Vaughn Fowler, Lee Baldock, Christian Davies, Aiden Lewis, and Sam Johnson all included.

Abubacarr Sama of Goytre in the Ardal South East is the South’s only non second tier representative. The 20-year-old has made 25 appearances this season, getting two goals and two assists.

The first leg is due to be played at Denbigh Town’s Central Park on Sunday 8th May, before meeting again seven days later at Old Road, home of Briton Ferry Llansawel.
