Holywell Town have been busy in the transfer market by signing five new players including Welsh Cup winner Kai Edwards.

Edwards, who has won Welsh football’s cup competition four times, is the highest-profile signing of the five who have arrived at the Achieve More Stadium.

He has been joined at the Flintshire club by Jake Hampson, Morgan Murray, Elliot Lloyd, and Brady McGilloway.

The experienced defender joins from Cymru Premier top six outfit Flint Town United where he has spent the last two seasons and reunites with his brother Zebb.

The 31-year-old made 29 appearances in the Welsh top flight last year, playing in a Silkmen defence that reached the final of the play-off, losing to Caernarfon Town.

Local lad Jake Hampson was the first through the door. He broke into Flint’s first team at the age of 16 and from that he had some time at Chester FC before joining Cefn Druids.

Morgan Murray has also moved to Holywell from Cymru North rivals Conwy Borough, Murray will hope to add pace threat to the Wellman attacking options. The 19-year-old played 22 times for the Tangerines last season, scoring two goals as he acclimatised to first-team football.

Winger Elliot Lloyd joins from Brickfield Rangers to add competition to the squad having played 13 times for the Ardal North West outfit.

Fans favourite Brady McGilloway meanwhile has opted to rejoin the club after spending the last four seasons at Airbus UK Broughton.

The 23-year-old has opted to remain in Welsh football’s second tier rather than linking up with the Wingmakers for their season back in the top flight. McGilloway was used on a sparingly basis last season playing five times in all competitions.

Holywell Town have also announced that Tom Bibby has re-signed for the upcoming campaign and will hope to build on his debut campaign with the club last year which saw him yield 12 appearances after joining from Connah’s Quay, scoring three goals.

There have also been three departures that the club has announced with Ben Brierly, Mike Platt, and Dylan Allshorn.

Dylan Allshorn has joined title challengers Colwyn Bay whilst Mike Platt will retire from football things are currently unknown where Brierly will move to as things stand.
