Connah’s Quay have completed the signing of former Liverpool and Rangers goalkeeper Andy Firth, 25, on a free transfer.
Firth had been training with the Deeside club and has now put pen-to-paper on a deal that sees him move to the Cymru Premier.
The 25-year-old joins from Europa League finalists Rangers, which saw him work with both Steven Gerrard and Dutch football legend Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Firth had been with Liverpool from under-11 level till his departure in 2018 and secured coaching badges.
He moved to Barrow and was their first-choice goalkeeper in the National League but was later reunited with Gerrard after working in the academy together.
The Yorkshire-born shot-stopper mainly acted as a cover or as a third-choice keeper to Alan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin but did make one senior appearance for the Gers.
Speaking to the Nomads official club website, Craig Harrison said: “We are very pleased to get Andy all done and dusted as we have been working hard to bring another goalkeeper in following Ollie Byrne’s departure.
“Neil Ebbrell has done a fantastic job over the years in recruiting some great goalkeepers for the club and I’m sure Andy will be another one.
“Andy has great pedigree having spent the best part of 10 years with Liverpool and Glasgow Rangers whilst also having two spells on loan at National Premier League teams.”
After receiving a fee of £10,000 from National League outfit Altrincham for the services of Oliver Byrne, the Nomads have sought a replacement and have now landed with two goalkeepers.
They had also secured the return of Jon Rushton, from Flint Town United, earlier in the transfer window.
Last week they confirmed the addition of attacking midfielder Harry Franklin.
The 22-year-old opted to move to Deeside Stadium after rejecting the chance to stay at Aberystwyth Town.
Franklin has 18 months of Cymru Premier experience and has scored eight goals in 34 games.
The Nomads had made a move for him in the winter transfer window but Aber rebuffed their approach but now they have their target.
Upon signing, manager Harrison said: “Harry has been a player that has really impressed me this past season, so much so that we actually tried to sign him in the January window, but Aberystwyth point blank turned us down.
“Harry has great energy and athleticism, has good technical ability, and can play in 3-4 positions. He is a great age to work with and I’m sure he has more to show.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Harry.”
