The opening game of the Genero Adran Premier will be held at the Swansea.com Stadium as the top two sides who have six titles each battle against each other.

The game will be played on Sunday 4th September at 5:45PM with the game to be shown live on S4C , online on S4C and on Sgorio’s Facebook page and Youtube channel.

The fixture will be between the top two sides based on titles within the division. Swansea City finished as Champions within the division with Cardiff Met finishing as runners up. Swansea lifted the title at Cyncoed Campus following a 1-1 draw against Yzzy Taylor’s side.

This fixture is always one to put in the calendar as Cardiff Met have lost three of their last four games against the Swans with the last game between the sides ending in a draw.

Cardiff Met managed a win against the Swans last season in the Ardran Trophy following Annabel Sweeney heroics in a penalty shootout win.The Archers ended up winning the trophy against Cardiff City in the final.

These two sides will battle it out as each manager know’s whoever wins this game gets first blood and an advantage on the other as last season only four points separated the sides.

The 2022/23 season will be an intriguing one with Swansea City and Cardiff Met hoping to battle it out to be the first team to have seven titles within the women’s top flight.

Ianthe Mumford, Genero Adran Premier General Manager, said: “What better way to mark the start of a new Genero Adran Premier season than to have a match at a top stadium and live on S4C?

“The buzz around women’s football in the last few weeks has been amazing and this is a great chance for people to see the fantastic talent we have on offer in the Welsh domestic game, as two of our leading teams go head-to-head.”
