Garden Village 1-5 Mumbles Rangers – Mumbles make it 2 wins from 2 in the Ardal South West

2 goals each from Elliot Smith and Christian Allen and a goal from Aled Smith secured the 3 points for Mumbles Rangers who made it 2 wins from 2 with a fantastic display. Sam Ash scored for the hosts.

Garden Village welcomed newcomers Mumbles Rangers at Stafford Common on a sunny Tuesday evening in the second game of the 2022/23 Ardal South West season.

The away side started the much better side with a very high press, and they scored a early goal 2 minutes into the game. The ball found itself to Elliot Smith, but his shot was saved. The ball was recovered by Rangers and the ball found itself to Aled James, the winger found himself on goal and neatly slotted it away to give the away side the lead.

Village, who needed to get back into the game did just that thanks to Sam Ash who neatly finished his chance and bagged his second goal of the season. The scoreline was now level after a interesting first 5 minutes.

Rangers, who started to dominate the game, the  ball was lifted over the defence, and it found Aled James, but the keeper came out and stopped the danger but Mumbles we’re playing lovely football at this point in the game.

Straight after that attack, the home side then gathered possession and caused some danger of there own. The ball found Sam Ash who got a quick shot away, but it was nicely saved by Callum Andrews.

On the 20-minute mark, Mumbles then regained the lead. It was very nice play in the middle of the park, the ball found Elliot Smith on the left who cut inside then got a shot away which beat the keeper at his near post.

14 minutes later, the away side then went 2 goals clear and 3-1 up, Taylor Smith skipped past a few players, the keeper came rushing out, but the midfielder passed it into the box and Elliot Smith put the ball into a empty net and got his second of the night.

Village then had a chance from a corner but was headed over by Selvage. Couple minutes later, danger man Elliot Smith for the away side found some space but his shot went wide of the post.

Half time: Garden Village 1-3 Mumbles Rangers.

The away side started the second half as they finished the first half by dominating the ball. Elliot Smith skipped past a few players but was tackled. The ball then found itself to Lloyd-Evans, but his shot was straight at the keeper.

Mumbles who continued to pass the ball with intent had another big chance 5 minutes into the second half. Another good corner delivered by Banfield which found Elliot Smith who tried an optimistic overhead kick, but it went over the bar.

Mumbles seen the second half out very nicely and got a fourth goal 1 minute before the end. The ball found Elliot Smith who delivered a lovely ball into the box and found Christian Allen who bobbled the ball into the net.

Into added time, Mumbles grabbed a fifth and Christian Allen got his second with a lovely, timed finish.

The full time whistled went not long after and Mumbles made it 2 wins from 2 with a lovely display at Stafford Common.
