Liverpool forward and Zimbabwe international transfer to Caernarfon

Liverpool forward Fidel O’Rourke has become one of four deadline day signings made by Caernarfon Town.

O’Rourke has joined from the Premier League giants on a season-long loan move and follows in the footsteps of another Reds player in Jakub Ojrzyński, who played for the Canaries last season.

Lloyd Marsh Hughes was the second arrival of the day as he joined Huw Griffiths’s side from Chester loan.

The 21-year-old arrived from the National League North side with the forward featuring four times for the Welsh side last season with no goals in return.

Harold Essien also made the move to The Oval, the young defender who had been a youth prospect at Middlesborough, and Manchester City joins the club on a permanent deal.

The youngster featured in pre-season for the Cofis as a right back, having played senior-level football for Stockport Town FC who play in the tenth tier of English football.

Alec Mudimu was the final signing of the day for Caernarfon as the midfielder comes back to the Welsh Premier League after spending three years with Cefn Druids.

During that time at Cefn Druids, he played under the current manager of Caernarfon, the Zimbabwe midfielder featured over 60 times for the club as he scored 12 times.

The 26-time capped international has featured in the Africa Cup of Nations, playing against the likes of Mohamed Salah.

First-team manager Huw Griffiths said to the official club website: “I am delighted with the four new signings we’ve managed to get over the line!

“I’m confident the four will fit in well with the excellent set of lads we already have; they will certainly add strength and depth to the squad.
As you know it’s been a really difficult task to find players who fit in with Town’s ethos, especially forward players – hopefully, the wait has been worth it

“Fidel and Lloyd both come in on loan from full-time training; Alec I’ve worked with before and he’s certainly a class player having represented his country on several occasions.

“Harold has played for Town in our of our friendlies including the Wrexham game and did well on both occasions.”
