Cardiff City take on Aberystwyth Town in the Adran Premier down at Leckwith Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

This is a meeting between two sides who finished in the top four last season, but this campaign has started very differently for both sides, who find themselves in opposite parts of the table.

The Bluebirds are flying high, having played four and won four and sit top of the league. Along with scoring twelve goals, they also boast a mean defence that have not conceded at all this season, thanks to manager Iain Derbyshire shifting into a back three at times this campaign. Their last game saw them triumph 3-0 away to Barry Town United. Goals from Phoebie Poole, Zoe Atkins and Danielle Broadhurst sealed a great away win, and they will look to stretch their unbeaten run on Sunday.

The task facing Aberystwyth looks daunting, especially given their start to the season. After defeating Abergavenny Town on the opening day, the Seasiders are on a run of three straight defeats. To make matters worse, they haven’t scored in those three games either, and this run of results sees them start the game in seventh place. Their last outing saw them lose at home to Cardiff Met 4-0. Gavin Allen will be hoping his side can find a spark on Sunday.

Last season saw these two play each other four times, with City winning each one. Across those games they scored 13 and conceded none. Aberystwyth will be hoping they can challenge this time round.
