Cardiff City 3-1 The New Saints: As it happened

Cardiff City take on The New Saints in the semi-final of the Adran Trophy down at Leckwith Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Both sides have been in good form all season and a chance of competing in the first final of the season is a tantalising prospect.

It’s safe to say that the Bluebirds have been firing on all cylinders so far this season. Cardiff are top of the Adran Premier, and in both semi finals of the cup competitions, and show no signs of letting up. Having lost in the final of last year’s Adran Trophy, they will not want to lose out this time. Iain Derbyshire’s side defeated Briton Ferry 3-1 in the round of 16, before beating Adran North side Llandudno 10-0 in the last round.

If you’re looking for a side to match the Bluebirds in terms of confidence, look no further than the Saints. Last week they secured their place in the Championship Conference of the Adran Premier, and they will be looking to keep the good times rolling as they aim to reach their first cup final. They defeated Cascade in the round of 16 5-0, before downing Pontypridd United 2-0 in the quarter final.

In the two league meeting between them so far, it was the capital side that came out on top. A narrow 3-2 win at home was followed up by a thumping 5-1 victory at Park Hall. Who will come out on top this time?
