New Saints profit from Penybont mistakes to reach Welsh Cup final

Josh Daniels’ double was the difference as TNS earn their place in the Welsh Cup final.

TNS started the game as the stronger of the two sides. Adrian Cieslewicz had the first big chance of the game as he found himself free in the Pen Y Bont box. But his header was tipped around the post by Kelland Absalom.

A Daniel Jefferies error at the back allowed Josh Daniels to pounce and grab his first goal of the game.

Pen Y Bont nearly responded well but Connor Roberts was on hand to deny Kai Whitmore from close range.

Josh Daniels grabbed his second of the game when he latched onto the end of a through ball, cleverly rounded Absalom and cooly slotted home.

The second half was much more of the same from TNS who continued to move the ball nicely.

Chances were few and far between for both sides, although Danny Williams had the chance to add a third for the Oswestry giants. His effort was expertly saved by Abaslom who was alert to the danger.

Despite a late abundance of pressure from Pen Y Bont, TNS were able to hold on to their two goal league.

The final whistle blew sending TNS into their third consecutive Welsh Cup final.
