As-it-happened: Ynyshir Albions 0-4 Barry Town – Welsh Blood Service League Cup

Josh Bulls first half hat trick sends Barry into the final of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup. Four first half goals was enough for the win for Barry as the hosts struggled to find the net.

Josh Bull scored twice in the opening minutes striking in the 2nd and 7th minute. It looked like Barry would run away with the game but the Buns came back into it. Barry were clinical though and Kayne McLaggon added the third in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Bull finished off his hat trick making it 4-0.

Barry will now face Briton Ferry Llansawel in the final of the competition. Ynyshir must now focus on their fight to stay in the JD Cymru South.


Barry opened the scoring with their first attack. A ball sent over the Ynyshir back line was met by Josh Bull who won the race with the keeper and poked the ball though Jonathon Howe’s legs.

Luke Cooper saw his header saved as Barry looked to press home their advantage.

In the seventh minute they had their second when Bull met a cross into the box at the far post. Luke Sylvester putting a good cross in for Bull to score.

Ynyshir refused to fold and started to come back into the game. Leon Anstee forcing a good save from Cameron Clarke after a good ball from Scott Jones.

The Buns kept going and Mark Crutch sent a header wide from a Ynyshir corner. Scott Jones then sent an effort wide off the post as the game became more even.

Scott Jones was finding lots of space on the right side and he set up Andre Griffiths. Griffiths tried from just outside the box and went close seeing his effort go just wide of the post.

The Buns were made to pay for their missed chances late on in the half. Chris Hugh’s cross was tapped to McLaggon by Bull and McLaggon fired in from close range.

Just before the break Bull completed his hat trick with a close range effort sending the visitors in four up.

Ynyshir had the first chance in a hard fought second half as Joseph Eason tried from distance but pulled his shot wide.

Barry came back and Drew Fahiya tried a curling effort from the left. Jonathon Howe diving to his left to push the ball away.

Chris Hugh sent a cross in which was met by McLaggon but his header was straight at Howe and the keeper made an easy save.

Scott Jones sent a cross into the Barry box which found Deacon Greening. Greening hit a powerful shot but it went wide of the target.

Kayne McLaggon found Liam Warman in space and Warman blasted a shot across goal. His effort was heading wide but was almost met by a sliding Drew Fahiya.

Andre Griffiths went close for the Buns with a effort from distance that narrowly went wide.

A tough fought second half ended goalless sending Barry into the Final.
