As-it-happened: Briton Ferry 0-0 Taffs Well

Briton Ferry Llansawel welcome Taffs Well to Old Road for this JD Cymru South game as they look to secure second place.

Taffs Well will be looking to take three points to move away from the lower end of the table.

Ferry have struggled for form in the league and are without a win in four games. After a draw with Barry from a late goal the Reds needed to come from two down to rescue a point at Llanelli. They again need late goals to come from two behind against Llantwit Major. Tom Walters scoring Ferry’s first, against his former side before a Luke Bowen Penalty. Their last match saw them lose 2-1 to Cwmbran Celtic with Lewis Illes getting two goals.

Taffs Well have just one win in seven games coming into this game. That win came against Trefelin with goals from Ethan Cann, Marcus Jones, and Jan Maertins for the Wellmen. Their last two games have seen them lose 5-1 to Cwmbran Celtic and 1-0 to Ammanford.

The two sides have met twice this season with both games being seven-goal thrillers. Despite the close games Briton Ferry have won both. A WBS Cup game at Old Road was won by Luke Bowen’s add time goal and in the JD Cymru South game that saw Tom Walters and Jasper Payne both hit late goals for the win.

Could there be another 4-3 thriller at Old Road as both sides look to pick up their form and pick up some vital points at the end of the season.
