Double-winning Barry Town goalkeeper pens goodbye
Cameron Clarke has revealed that he is leaving Barry Town United.
Clarke helped the Linnets win a Cymru South and Welsh Blood Service League Cup double. He joined from Cambrian & Clydach last summer and competed with Mike Lewis for the number one spot.
The 26-year-old made six appearances in total, keeping three clean sheets. He tasted just one defeat during his time at Jenner Park – a Nathaniel MG Cup loss to Haverfordwest County.
He tweeted: “Sadly my time at Barry has come to an end. Thank you to all the players, management and fans for making it an enjoyable short stint.
“Wish you all the best on your return to the Welsh prem. Looking forward to spending time with family & seeing what happens next @BarryTownUnited.”
Clarke spent two years with at his former club Cambrian & Clydach Vale and played 27 times for the Sky Blues the season before last, making 10 clean sheets across all competitions.
His other former clubs include Pontypridd United, Mangotsfield, Cinderford Town and Merthyr Town, Clarke was on the books of Cardiff City, Bristol Rovers, and Hereford during his academy days.
