Ex-Bristol City, Leeds United, Swansea City, and Wrexham man joins new club at 46

Lee Trundle has chosen his newest club… His move to Mumbles Rangers has been confirmed, and he’s remaining in Wales.

Trundle, who turns 47 in October, confirmed his departure from Ammanford last month, but that he would prolong his playing career. The 46-year-old spent four seasons with the Cymru South outfit and was on the search for a ‘new challenge’ and now his destination has been revealed.

Ardal South West outfit Mumbles Rangers have announced that Trundle will be joining them for the 2023/24 season. Rangers – finished ninth in their first season in the third tier after winning promotion from the West Wales Premier League.

“Delighted to finally get this deal done, one we are very proud of,” said first-team manager Kurtis March.

“Really looking forward to the season ahead with all the lads. No doubt a tough competitive league but a very exciting one

Trundle most recently has been playing for his former club Wrexham in the United States, competing in ‘The Soccer Tournament’ which had a grand prize of $1 million. He played alongside Caernarfon Town’s newest signing Louis Lloyd, as well as George Boyd and Mark Howard. 

It is the first time since 2017 that Trundle will play in the third tier of Welsh football. He joined Llanelli Town then in the Welsh Football League Division Two, and got nine hat-tricks across the campaign, as Andy Hill’s side won the title, as well as the Welsh League Cup. 

He has played competitively for an impressive 25 years with his career beginning in 1995 with Burscough. His footballing CV includes an EFL Trophy win with Swansea City, as well as two FAW Premier Cup wins with Wrexham. 

Trundle has got 40 League One goals to his name, as well as 12 efforts in the Championship. He played for Bristol City, Leeds United, Swansea City, and Preston North End in the English system. He had hung his boots up with Marine back in 2013, but after a three-year break from the game, he returned with Llanelli Town and won back-to-back promotions with the Reds. His other clubs include Haverfordwest County, and then Trefelin BGC with whom he won promotion with.
