Lee Trundle has confirmed in a social media post that he is leaving Ammanford.

The 46-year-old is moving on after four seasons at The Recreation Ground. The Swansea City hero scored 33 goals in 70 appearances for Gruff Harrison’s side with 14 assists. He joined in the summer of 2019 and helped Ford to seventh, 12th, and 10th-placed finishes.

Trundle’s presence managed to attract his former Swans teammates Andy Robinson and Leon Britton. He remained loyal to the club after they recently flirted with relegation, but will move on in search of a new challenge.

He posted on Instagram: “Just want to say a massive thank you to @ammanfordafc for the last 4 seasons but its time to move on.

“Thank you to @gruffharrison all the staff, directors, and fans, what a great club it is. Don’t worry I’m not hanging up my boots yet! Looking forward to a new challenge at a new club x.”

Trundle – who also played for Bristol City and Leeds United in his career – registered eight assists and 11 assists in 25 matches this term.

Ammanford was Trundle’s fourth club after coming out of retirement in 2016 following his exit from non-league Marine.

He turned out for Llanelli Town and helped them win back-to-back promotions from the third tier to the Cymru Premier but departed for Haverfordwest County. Trundle did half a season before joining Trefelin BGC where he also played veterans football.

Trundle rose to prominence when he was picked up by Brian Flynn after impressing for Rhyl in the early 200s. He scored 15 goals in 18 matches and was later snapped up by Wrexham before earning a move to Swansea City.

The Liverpool-born forward got 91 goals in 194 games for Swansea. At Amamnford is where he scored his second most with 33 goals in total and also had a successful spell with Neath.
