Wrexham to start campaign against Swansea City

Newly promoted Wrexham will face off against Swansea City on the opening day of the 2023-24 Adran Premier season.

Steve Dale’s side will meet the six-time Adran Premier champions on Sunday September 17th.

Wrexham’s men side face off against Grimsby Town at the Racecourse the day before, so could a clash at the famous old ground be on?

Having made some strong signings, the Red Dragons will look to start the season well, but the Swans are veterans of this league, and they will look to spoil the party.

Adran Premier holders Cardiff City will start their quest to retain their trophy with a short trip to Cyncoed to take on Cardiff Met.

The reigning champions will take on the Archers a week after their Champions League adventure out in Lithuania.

It’s the dawn of a new era for Met. Daniel Delahay has been appointed as the new head coach, and a host of players have left. As much as they will be excited to start the season, they know it won’t get much tougher than a matchup against Iain Darbyshire’s side.

There’s a grudge match in the valleys as Pontypridd United will take on TNS.

Last season, TNS booked their place in the Championship Group over Ponty by virtue of goal difference.

While Pontypridd did win the Conference Plate for the second year running, they want to be in the top four, and more importantly, will want revenge on the Saints.

TNS have strong ambitions this season to push the bigger sides all the way, and they will hope to get off to the perfect start at the USW SportPark.

Elsewhere, Aberystwyth Town will host Barry Town United at Park Avenue.

These were the two sides who finished immediately above relegated Abergavenny last season, and both will be hoping to be at the other end of the table this season.

Barry are a young team, but Aber have so many experienced players at their disposal, so it will be an incredibly interesting game.

All opening games will kick off at 2pm on Sunday September 17th.

Phase one of the Adran Premier will finish on Sunday February 11th.
