Cymru South 2023/24 odds in full as Briton Ferry backed and Goytre United unfancied

Briton Ferry Llansawel will win the 2023/24 Cymru South according to the bookmakers.

The Reds have been tipped by Y Clwb Pêl-droed to win the league and bookmakers DragonBet are in agreement by giving them odds of 6/5. Andy Hill’s side have been the mix for the last three campaigns but have lost out to Swansea University, Llantwit Major, and Barry Town United.

Llanelli Town who have had a strong transfer window which includes the likes of Liam Warman, who won the league last year, as well as Tom Johnston and Luke Martin, who tasted success with Swansea Uni. Carmarthen Town are third favourites under Mark Aizlewood, but a 4-0 defeat to Swansea City’s Under-21’s is far from the ideal preparations for the new campaign.

As for relegation, Goytre United are favourites the drop with odds at 7/5. Karl Lewis took over last season and guided them to safety after returning to his former clubs for new signings. They’ve been one of the busiest clubs in the division for transfer business but at the moment the bookmakers aren’t convinced.

Abergavenny Town are second favourites for the drop after surviving in their first campaign. The Pennies finished five points above the drop zone last year but have lost their assistant manager Danny Elliott to Cwmbran Town. A few of their key players have departed with Owen Taylor joining Aberystwyth Town and Rhys Tandy heading to Cambrian & Clydach Vale.

Newly promoted Baglan Dragons who beat Risca United in the Ardal Leagues play-offs back in May are tipped for the drop too. It’s the first time they’ve played in the second tier of Welsh football, and they will have to acclimatise to a new division.
