Wrexham have today announced a historic moment in women’s football as they announce that their women’s teams fixtures will be streamed on iFollow Wrexham.

The club announced the news on the club website saying:

We are pleased to announce that all Wrexham AFC Women’s matches that haven’t been selected for TV coverage, will now be streamed free of charge via iFollow Wrexham, for both UK and international supporters.”

The first fixture set to be streamed is this Sunday’s Bute Energy Welsh Cup fixture against CPD Pwllheli.

Speaking on the news Wrexham CEO Fleur Robinson said:

“We are proud to be at the forefront of promoting Welsh women’s football to a wider audience, and being able to stream all of our matches to an international audience will play a big role in that.”

The news come after their latest fixture in the JD Adran Premier League against champions Cardiff City was televised on Sgorio in front of a bumper crowd.

Robinson added: “It was fantastic to see 707 fans in attendance at the weekend against Cardiff City, which was an increase from the opening game and was the largest crowd in Welsh domestic football last weekend.

“We encourage fans to continue to support the side in person and hope that attendances keep increasing, both home and away, while streaming all non-televised matches will help to grow the audience unable to attend in person.”
