Swansea City ran out comfortable 6-0 winners against Briton Ferry to book a place in the semi-final of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

The young Swans run rampant with Kian Jenkins, Reuben Davies and Kristian Fletcher all getting two goals.

Ferry’s difficult task was made harder when youngster Morgan Hutin was shown a straight red after 27 minutes for a late challenge.

It was a comfortable night for the Swans as they hit three goals in either half to maintain their cup run.

The Swans got off to the perfect start as a cross from Liam Smith bounced off a defender to the edge of the area. Full back Kian Jenkins arrived to strike the ball first time in to the net after 7 minutes.

It was set to be a difficult night for Ferry and it was made harder when youngster Morgan Hutin was shown a straight red card on the 27th minute for a poor challenge.

It was a comfortable first half for Swansea as they dominated possession and continued to apply pressure to the opposition defence, but couldn’t increase their lead until the final five minutes of the half.

Swansea broke on a counterattack and Joe Thomas played Reuben Davies through on goal. He controlled the ball before cooly slotting past the keeper on the 40th minute.

It was 3-0 in added time as Jenkins was played through to get his second of the game. The home side were furious with officials as they appealed for offside.

Ferry went in at half time with a mountain to climb if they wanted to reach the semi-finals.

The Swans continue to dominate in the second half as expected. Ferry defender Kris Davies went in the book 10 minutes in to the second half for a late challenge.

They made it 4-0 on the 75th minute. A cross to the back post found Davies who tapped home for his second.

It was 5-0 just two minutes later, Kristian Fletcher latching on to the ball as it dropped on the six yard box to poke home.

Fletcher got his second on the 82nd minute as he broke through on goal with a great run. He rounded the keeper before slotting home.

The Swans booked their place in the semi-final in impressive style and will be in contention to win the competition.
