Barry Town take on Pontypridd United in both sides’ final game in phase one of the Adran Premier.

With both knowing they will be playing for the Championship Plate come phase two, both want to make sure they go into it full of confidence.

Despite losing to Cardiff City last weekend, Barry still remain a team who are high in confidence. Since the arrival of Catherine Walsh and Danielle Broadhurst, the Linnets have looked like a team transformed, and more importantly, look like a side who are able to cause anyone damage. Now with new signing Zoe Atkins in contention to start, they will aim to make it five wins this season with victory at Jenner Park.

For Ponty, despite still not winning a league game this season, that win is getting closer. A draw with Aberystwyth Town and a late defeat to Wrexham an indication things are heading in the right direction for the Dragons. What will help their cause is the signings that they made on deadline day. Caitlin Davies joined from Barry, while veteran striker Erin Murray arrived from Cardiff Met, as Ponty hope she will score the goals that will keep them up.

These two last met at the start of November, and it was Barry who came out on top, winning 3-0. An Aimee Deacon penalty coupled with goals for Holly Jenkins and India Shanahan sealing a comfortable win for Barry. Will they get their league double, or will Ponty get revenge?

Barry Town v Pontypridd United kick-off time

The action gets underway at Jenner Park at 5.10 pm. The reason for the late start is that this is the final game of Phase One and so all games start at the same time. The live televised game is Aberystwyth Town v TNS which will decide who finishes in the top four.

Team news

Pontypridd United have been busy this week bringing in two new players. Erin Murray has joined from Cardiff Met, whilst Caitlin Davies has arrived from today’s opponents Barry.
