Cymru South club Pontardawe Town are on the search for a new manager after Garry Taylor stood down from his post.

Taylor is ending his five-year association with the club that has seen him play and coach the team. He became manager when he succeeded Andrew Stokes in the 2022/23 season.

During his time in charge, he has helped develop players that have gone on to play in the Cymru Premier. The 37-year-old also made a solitary 60-minute appearance in the league this season.

He said in a post: “It’s been a tough few days but I have come to the decision to step down as First Team Manager of Pontardawe Town.

“I feel now that it’s the time to step down as I believe the club needs fresh input and direction.

“I want to thank the players who have given me everything in my two years in charge, to former players who I still keep in touch with to current players who have always given 100%, players who have become good friends and I will forever hold in high regards.

“Thank you to all the supporters who have constantly got behind us and backed us. I will forever be grateful for your support.”

Pontardawe will be playing in the Ardal South West next season after they were relegated from the Cymru South after finishing third from bottom. They finished ninth in Taylor’s first campaign but could not secure survival this season.

In their search for a new manager, Pontardawe say that the successful candidate will hold a FAW B Licence or work towards one. They will have experience of managing at the third level of Welsh football. Any interested candidates should apply to secretary@pontardawetownafc.co.uk. Any interested parties will be aware of the 6.00 pm deadline on Saturday, May 11.
