The Cymru Leagues attendances show which clubs drew the biggest crowds including Caernarfon and Porthmadog

The latest Cymru Leagues attendances have been recorded, with Caernarfon Town attracting the biggest crowd of the weekend across the top three tiers.

A total of 23 attendances were recorded across the Cymru Premier, Cymru North and Cymru South, with almost 7,400 supporters recorded at the matches where figures were available.

The biggest crowd came at Caernarfon Town’s home meeting with Barry Town United, where 852 fans watched the action.

Caernarfon Town lead the way in Cymru Leagues

Caernarfon’s 852 attendance was comfortably the highest recorded figure in the whole of the Cymru Leagues and in the Cymru Premier.

It was the first time this season that Caernarfon had failed to attract a four-figure crowd, with 158 fewer spectators in attendance than their last home match. However, the Cofis still boasted the biggest crowd of the weekend.

The Cofis’ home game against Barry Town United was the only match to break the 800 mark, while The New Saints’ fixture against Cambrian United was the next highest with 425 supporters.

Ammanford’s meeting with Holywell Town attracted 407, while Haverfordwest County’s clash with Flint Town United drew 384.

The full Cymru Premier attendance figures provided were:

  • Ammanford v Holywell Town – 407
  • Haverfordwest County v Flint Town United – 384
  • Briton Ferry Llansawel v Colwyn Bay – 358
  • Llandudno v Cardiff Met – 352
  • Connah’s Quay Nomads v Penybont – 308
  • Airbus UK Broughton v Trefelin – 273

Those eight matches drew a combined 3,359 supporters, for an average of just under 420 per game.

The average fell from 812 to 420 spectators, meaning the October 3 average was almost half that of the previous week. September 26 was boosted by two major crowds, pushing the average above 800.

October 3 was much more evenly concentrated in the 273–852 range, resulting in a 48.3% week-on-week fall in the average attendance.

Porthmadog’s derby-style crowd stands out in Cymru North

There was another particularly strong turnout in the Cymru North, with 714 supporters attending Porthmadog’s match against Bangor City 1876.

That was the second-highest attendance recorded across all three divisions and was more than twice the figure recorded at several other Cymru North fixtures.

Denbigh Town’s meeting with Holyhead Hotspur attracted 342 fans, while Buckley Town v Ruthin Town was watched by 265.

The remaining recorded attendances included 261 at Rhyl 1879 v Brickfield Rangers and 210 for Caersws v Bala Town.

Pontypridd United attract Cymru South’s biggest crowd

Pontypridd United recorded the highest Cymru South attendance from the figures supplied, with 439 supporters at their match against Aberystwyth Town.

Carmarthen Town’s meeting with Llantwit Major was next with 305, while Caerau Ely v Afan Lido attracted 283.

Trethomas Bluebirds v Pontardawe Town was watched by 239 fans, with Llanelli Town v Baglan Dragons drawing 236.

The other recorded figures were 225 for Pure Swansea v Caerphilly Athletic, 190 for Cardiff Draconians v Newport City and 110 for Treowen Stars v Ynyshir Albions.

The Cymru South attendances were:

  • Pontypridd United v Aberystwyth Town – 439
  • Carmarthen Town v Llantwit Major – 305
  • Caerau Ely v Afan Lido – 283
  • Trethomas Bluebirds v Pontardawe Town – 239
  • Llanelli Town v Baglan Dragons – 236
  • Pure Swansea v Caerphilly Athletic – 225
  • Cardiff Draconians v Newport City – 190
  • Treowen Stars v Ynyshir Albions – 110

The eight confirmed Cymru South figures total 2,027, an average of around 253 supporters per match.

Across all 23 matches with attendance figures supplied, the combined crowd was 7,398.

Caernarfon Town boasted the biggest crowd across the Cymru Leagues this weekend, with 852 supporters watching their Cymru Premier clash with Barry Town United.

Porthmadog were next with 714 in the Cymru North for their meeting with Bangor City 1876, while Pontypridd United recorded the highest attendance in the Cymru South, with 439 fans turning out to watch Aberystwyth Town.
