Wales were relegated from Nations League A on Friday night, after they were defeated 1-0 by Denmark in Odense.
Pernille Harder scored the winning goal shortly after the restart, but Wales should have had a goal of their own in the first half, but a lack of technology meant Jess Fishlock’s goal didn’t count.
Here’s how we rate the performance of every Welsh player who stepped out onto the pitch in Odense.
WALES PLAYER RATINGS VS. DENMARK
Olivia Clark: 7/10
Not for the first time during this campaign, Clark kept Wales in the game a number of times. Her fingertip save to deny Amalie Vangsgaard, coupled with some key saves to keep out Pernille Harder, helped to keep Cymru in the match.
Josie Green: 8/10
Friday night was yet another reminder of how important Green is to this team and system. Whether it be tough tackles or incredible blocks, Green always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
Gemma Evans: 6/10

Another decent outing for Evans, but maybe she was slightly below the incredibly high level that we’re so used to seeing from her. The goal will certainly be a source of frustration, and maybe the early injury to Davies threw her off slightly.
Wales relegated to Nations League B in controversial fashion
Mayzee Davies: N/A
I am hoping and praying that the injury Davies sustained is not as bad as it looked. To go off after just six minutes is heartbreaking, and finger crossed, she is able to make it to Switzerland. Subbed off 6th minute.
Ella Powell: 6/10
A second consecutive start for Wales and Powell was once again solid. Defensively in particular, the Bristol City full back didn’t allow much to get past her down her side, and she was perhaps a little unlucky to be hooked at the break. Subbed off half time.
Hayley Ladd: 7/10
Ladd has been phenomenal in the midfield during this Nations League, and for her to move into centre back so early was a real blow for Wales. However, Ladd stuck to her duties well and made an incredible clearance off the line to keep Wales in the game in the second half.
Angharad James: 7/10

This was certainly one of James’ stronger games during this campaign. She was able to roam forward a lot more and her passing accuracy was very good throughout. The only disappointment will be not being able to tackle Pernille Harder for the goal.
Lily Woodham: 6/10
It was a very 50/50 display from Woodham. Going forward, yet again, she was brilliant and really helped her forwards get into good positions. But defensively, she gave too much space to the likes of Janni Thomsen, and a lot of Danish attacks came down her side, particularly in the first half.
Ceri Holland: 8/10
Thank goodness Holland’s injury wasn’t serious during the last camp! What was really noticeable about her last night was just how much of a licence she had to roam wherever she pleased. She was dragging defenders here, there and everywhere, and was relentless.
Elise Hughes: 7/10
It wasn’t easy at times for Hughes, but her hold up play was brilliant again. She may not have had as many shots on goal as she would have liked, but to bring her wingers and midfielders into the game in the way she did was integral to how Wales played. Subbed off 62nd minute.
Jess Fishlock: 6/10
Had a clear goal ruled out and if it had stood, this game could have potentially gone in a whole different direction. Other than that, Fishlock did try to make things happen, but she did look a little rusty at times out in Odense. Subbed off 62nd minute.
Alice Griffiths: 7/10

Subbed on 6th minute. To come on so early and play the role she did as well as she did was very impressive. Not many Danish attacks came through the middle, and that’s a testament to how well she and James played together. Subbed off 79th minute.
Wales midfielder fully focused ahead of Euros squad announcement
Carrie Jones: 7/10
Subbed on at half time. Jones has made a habit of being a very impactful substitute as of late. As soon as she came on, she added more physicality to the attack, and she linked up well with someone like Holland in particular.
Rachel Rowe: 5/10
Subbed on 62nd minute. Rowe came on and was instantly deployed on the left but struggled to make an impact on the game. It didn’t help that Denmark were sitting back in a back five at this time, but it wasn’t a game to remember for the Southampton winger.
Hannah Cain: 6/10
Subbed on 62nd minute. Cain looked a little brighter than Rowe. She had a good turn and shot towards the end of the game, a sign of how confident she is, but she couldn’t quite make things click in the final third.
Ffion Morgan: N/A
Subbed on 79th minute. Wasn’t on long enough to make an impact.
Rhian Wilkinson: 8/10
With the cards she was dealt early in the game, Wilkinson adapted well and still had the team set up very positively. The goal was not down to her tactics, but you can see what the Canadian is trying to do, and this game was another big positive for her.
