Barry Town United secure double signing boost

Barry Town United have made a strong statement in the transfer market by confirming two new arrivals in quick succession.

Midfielder Sion Spence returns to Jenner Park, where he previously enjoyed a loan spell in 2019, making 14 appearances and scoring once against Newtown. The 25-year-old arrives with a strong development background, having been part of the youth systems at Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, as well as a loan at Bristol Rovers, and also represented Wales at U17, U19, and U21 level.

Barry’s other signing of the window is Jack Shaw, who joins after spells with Llantwit Major, Trethomas Bluebirds, and Penybont. Shaw previously featured in the Cymru Premier during the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons and impressed in the Cymru South, scoring five goals and adding five assists in 23 appearances last campaign, including a memorable hat-trick against Cardiff Draconians.

Flint Town United add attacking depth as Wynne departs

Flint Town United have confirmed the signing of Isaac Modi ahead of the new season.

Isaac Modi arrives with a varied footballing background, including spells at Oldham Athletic, Avro FC, and FC Trafford, as well as appearances in the Baller League—a fast-paced six-a-side competition featuring celebrity-managed teams and former professionals.

Meanwhile, former Flint favourite Ben Wynne has departed to join Southport in the National League North. Wynne leaves after five years in Welsh football, having represented several Cymru Premier clubs, including Cefn Druids, Aberystwyth Town, Caernarfon Town, and Flint Town United.

He exits Flint after a strong season, contributing nine goals and three assists in 30 appearances, helping the club maintain its Cymru Premier status and reach the Welsh Cup final.

Cambrian United add experienced goalkeeper

Recently promoted Cambrian United have strengthened their squad by signing goalkeeper Kelland Absalom following his departure from Cardiff Met.

Kelland Absalom brings significant experience across Welsh and English football, having played for clubs including Wigan Athletic, Ytterhogdals IK, Östersunds FK, Barry Town United, Bala Town, Haverfordwest County, Cardiff Met, and Aberystwyth Town.

The former Wales C international adds leadership and depth to Cambrian’s squad as they prepare for life in the Cymru Premier.
