Carmarthen Town have completed the signing of Swansea City forward Lowri Jones, with the highly-rated youngster set to gain valuable experience in senior football.

The Old Gold have added the striker to their squad after she enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign at Under-19 level, scoring 10 goals in just five league appearances.

The move presents an exciting opportunity for the forward to continue her development, having already made an impression at both youth and senior level with the Swans.

Swansea City youngster excited by new challenge

Jones is looking forward to testing herself in a senior environment and believes the switch to the Carmarthenshire outfit is exactly what she needs at this stage of her career.

Speaking about the move, she said: “I’m really excited to get started playing consistently in a senior environment.

“This was the challenge I needed to better myself as a player and I feel this will greatly benefit me. I can’t wait to get started and meet all the girls.”

The forward joined Swansea City from Johnstown AFC ahead of the 2025-26 season and has continued to make significant progress since arriving at the club.

Striker boasts remarkable goalscoring record at Swansea

Jones enjoyed a hugely successful campaign with the Swans’ Under-19s last season, playing a key role in their Adran Championship Conference triumph.

She finished the campaign with an outstanding 36 goals in 21 appearances, underlining her potential as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in Welsh women’s football.

Her performances also earned her opportunities with the senior side, making her first-team debut in October last year.

It was a memorable introduction, as she scored twice in a 10-1 victory over Pontypridd United.

The youngster subsequently came into the starting XI for the Adran South fixture against Cwmbran Celtic, gaining further experience at senior level.

Familiar faces await new signing in Carmarthenshire

Carmarthen have recruited several players with Swansea City connections, meaning Jones should have no shortage of familiar faces as she settles into her new surroundings.

Alex Green, Poppy Delaney, Esme Kennelly and Megan Roberts all made the switch from the Swans during the summer, providing the latest arrival with some familiar teammates.

The west Wales outfit will be hoping the striker can carry her impressive goalscoring form into senior football and make a positive impact in the Adran South.

With 46 goals across her last two Under-19 campaigns and senior experience already under her belt, Jones arrives with plenty of promise as the Old Gold look to benefit from another addition with Swansea connections.
