Ruthin Town have announced the marquee signing of Mike Sharples from Rhyl FC this evening.
The defender arrives at Ruthin as a prolific player with a plenty of experience in North Wales’ first and second tiers.
His previous clubs include Denbigh Town, Conwy Borough, Llandyrnog United and Rhos Aelwyd on loan, but he also boasts Welsh Premier experience with spells at Bala Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The signing will come as a boost to Ruthin and manager Chris Williams, who is already preparing his squad for what is expected to be a fiercely competitive Huws Gray Alliance next season.
Although poor form sent Ruthin to the bottom of the league in Christmas 2016, a dramatic turnaround saw them escape relegation with a 11th place finish.
