Cogan Coronation’s search for a manager is over after they appointed Sharief Nassaro as their new First Team Manager.
The club were on the look out for a new manager following the departure of former manager Lee Williams and have looked to the former Newport City player as the man to lead them forward.
Sharief has played in the South Wales Alliance before, having turned out for St Josephs. He has also had experience in coaching Cyncoed FC.
The Penarth based club finish second from bottom in the South Wales Alliance Divison One last season and the appointment of Nassaro could renew optimism around the club.
Nassaro will not be alone though, he has brought Dean Raven to the club alongside him as First Team Coach. The pair have worked closely together as they look to obtain coaching badges along the way.
The decision was taken by the newly formed committee which consists of Paul Starling as the secretary of the club and Lee Williams as the Chairman.
Speaking to Penarth Times, the new Cogan boss said he is looking to take the club to the next level and has long-term plans for the club.
“It’s a great challenge to take over here at Cogan and along with Dean we have exciting plans to take the club to the next level.
“This is a well-established club which has everything in place to go up the ranks in Welsh football, so we want players who share our ambition to join us this season.
“We’ll be putting a long-term plan into practice, which will include bringing players through the amazing minis, juniors, and youth set up that the club has built up over years. There are quality players here, and with hard work we can achieve our aims.”
