A total of ELEVEN fixtures in the South Wales Alliance League will see attendances boosted this bank-holiday weekend with the arrival of Groundhoppers.
The annual spectacle allows fans to attend more games than they would be able to any other weekend as clubs agree to specific kick-offs.
The Welsh Groundhop takes place from the 25th-28th August, with a total of eleven games being played at different times to help the groundhoppers experience a number of Welsh grounds that they may not get to see any other time.
The event helps the profile of Welsh clubs who will welcome fans from afar and those that are local, giving the opportunity for the players to play in front of a bigger crowd.
With four days of Welsh football, locals and those from afar can get their football feast with some interesting ties on offer.
Simon Stokes, player-manager of Penrhiwceiber Con Athletic is relishing the opportunity to play in front of a bumper crowd which will see them host local rivals FC Cwmaman, with only five miles separating the two sides geographically.
“I am proud to be involved in such a big game for the club. This is a great opportunity for my players to play in front of at least 250 people . I couldn’t have asked for a better game for the groundhoppers to come to watch with a local derby against FC Cwmaman should have everything.”
