A mix of league and cup action greets us this weekend in the Welsh Alliance League, starting in the league and the first division.
Greenfield make the trip to Llandyrnog, with United sitting just two points above the drop zone. A recent surge in form has seen a drastically improved side from United and something Greenfield will have to be careful of.
Despite a spike in form from the home side, they still have only won once at home and Greenfield will look to capitalise on this stuttering figure.
Mynydd Llandegai make a short trip south to Penrhyndeudraeth, with both teams sitting just a point off each other. Mynydd have done well on the road so far, this season having only lost once, something they will look to make the most of given Penrhyn’s stuttering home form.
Pwllheli await league leaders Conwy Borough and Borough will be on a high after Wednesday’s 11-0 drubbing of Treaddur Bay.
If Pwllheli are going to have any chance in this one they are going to have to figure out how to stop Corrig McGonigle, who along with being the league’s top goal-scorer, has also netted six times in his last two games. A tough game for the hosts.
In Division 2, we have a double Anglesey derby with Aberffraw taking on Cemaes Bay, while Llanncerchymedd await near neighbours Gaerwen.
Another local derby sees Glan Conwy taking on Mochdre Sports (game being played at Llandrillo College). Glan’s recent performances have earned them only one defeat in six matches while Mochdre carry a 100% home record in recently going into this game.
Meanwhile in the Cup game’s starting with the Cookson Cup, Llanrug Utd take on Barmouth & Dyffryn Utd.
In the Mawddach Challenge Cup, Llanfairpwll entertain Y Felinheli, Llangefni take on Meliden, Llanrwst face Blaenau Ffestiniog and Treaddur Bay welcome Llanberis to the coast.
In the Take Stock Van Hire Cup, Amlwch Town host Presatyn Sports, Bodedern Athlectic are home to Llannefyd and Penmaenmawr take a trip out to Pentraeth.
