Welsh Football League Division Two side Aberbargoed Buds will be seeking a new manager following the exit of Lee Costa, who has stood down from his role to focus on projects outside of football.
The Buds finished fifth in this season’s Welsh Football League Division Two, six points off the promotion places.
A statement posted on the club’s Twitter account read: “We would like to put on record our thanks to 1st team manager Lee Costa who has stepped down due to having projects on outside football.”
Costa, who spent five years at Manchester United, joined the club in June of 2016.
The statement continued: “Lee has done a great job at the Buds, guiding us to a fifth place finish and we wish him all the very best in the future.”
The Caerphilly Borough side, who play at the Recreational Ground, finished 15th in the 2016/17 season.
This was the 47-year-old’s first senior managerial post, having taken over from John Lewis shortly before the club’s relegation from the Welsh Football League Division One was confirmed in the 2015/16 season.
Costa joined Manchester United in 1985, a year before Sir Alex Ferguson took over from Ron Atkinson.
The Buds will be joined by Caerau Ely, Monmouth Town, Swansea University and Bridgend Street in next season’s Welsh Football League Division Two.
