Cardiff Met’s Chrisitan Edwards feels his side need to be more “clinical” as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Llandudno in Sunday’s game at Cyncoed Campus.
Toby Jones’s 70th minute strike was the difference between the two sides as The Seasiders picked up their first away win of the season and their second victory on the bounce after beating Barry Town at Maesdu Park last weekend, helping move them into 8th place in the table.
As for the hosts, defeat sees them fall to 4th in table but Edwards took a lot from the game but felt that his side needed to improve for their next game away to Newtown.
“I think the performance was there today (Sunday), I thought the players were excellent, put a very good Llandudno side on the back foot for most of the 90 minutes. He said. So that was the pleasing points. Just got to be more clinical in both 18-yard boxes.”
“Well they all did as I said, we dominated the game. I thought Joel Edwards started very positively, Sam Snaith.”
“I am not going to single out any type of player because I thought they played really well today (Sunday). It’s just that we got to be clinical in all areas of the pitch.”
“The issue would be for me if performances weren’t there and we were losing but the performances are there and we know we just got to work harder in both ends of the box to make sure that we get the results that our performances deserve.”
“You got to work hard and the basics receiving the ball from throw ins, making sure to keep possession, the defending, covering around, putting the bodies on the line. That is the type of things that earn you and what’s earned Llandudno the three points.”
Cardiff Met’s next game is away to Newtown on Saturday the 22nd, with a 2:30pm kick off.
