Cwmbran Celtic management duo appointed as Gwent County FA managers

Lee Challenger and Nana Baah have been appointed managers of the Gwent County Football Association.

Challenger is currently the manager of Cwmbran Celtic, whilst Nana Baah is his assistant manager.

Challenger has been in charge of Cwmbran Celtic for over a year, taking over from Dean Morris. Nana Baah recently rejoined Cwmbran Celtic, working as Challenger’s assistant, after being relieved of his duties at Taffs Well.

A statement from the Gwent FA read: “It gives me great pleasure in welcoming a new coaching team of Lee Challenger and Nana Baah.

We feel happy with our choice and hope all clubs and players within Gwent will welcome them and assist them in performing their duties in being successful.”

The appointment of Baah and Challenger means that Della Cheedy, formerly the manager of Cwmbran Celtic, has left his role.

“We would like to thank the departing Della Cheedy and his coaching staff for all the hard work they have put in over the last two years running the Regions Cup squad and wish them all well in the future.”

Players will be eligible to play for the Gwent FA team if they play in the Welsh Football League Division Three and below.

The FAW Regions Cup is a competition divided into two groups, a Northern and a Southern area.

The South Wales FA are currently representing the FAW after winning the FAW Regions Cup. They will travel out to Bulgaria in two weeks time, after getting past the preliminary round.
