Former Taffs Well boss Mark Sampson has taken caretaker charge of Stevenage, after the sacking of Dino Maamria.

The 36-year-old moves up from his role as first-team coach, following his summer arrival at Broadhall Way.

Sampson will be assisted by former Cardiff City forward Alex Revell, who had recently been appointed Under-18s manager of the club.

Stevenage were winless in seven league games before Maamria’s departure.
