Cymru Leagues set for crucial talks in how season will conclude

Cymru Leagues clubs will meet via teleconference tomorrow to take steps into deciding how the season will be concluded.

This week, Welsh football chiefs took the decision to curtail the mini, junior and youth football seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now a decision could be made on senior football in Wales as club representatives across the Cymru Leagues make their thoughts known on how the season should finish.

LeaderLive and the Rhyl Journal both report that there will be discussions taking place on the day that the FAW’s suspension on a suspension of football expires.

Last week, the Welsh government announced that the lockdown had been extended for a further three weeks.

In March, the Welsh Rugby Union cancelled their entire 2019/20 season with no promotion or relegation in any division.

No senior leagues have been cancelled by any affiliation but in the South, the Welsh Football League’s Reserve and Youth divisions were cancelled to help ease fixture congestion.

The Reserve and Reserve Colts Divisions in the Welsh National League (Wrexham) were cancelled last week.
