Cymru South table: How season would finish on a points per game scenario

As a number of possibilities are being considered as to how to bring football seasons to a finality, a points per game method could be an option to provide a complete table.

This would consider all results of the 2019-2020 season that have already been recorded to estimate a final league table.

In the case that a points per game method is used, here’s how the Cymru South table would look:

Team Points per Game

  1. Swansea University – 2.24
  2. Haverfordwest County – 2.2
  3. Briton Ferry Llansawel – 1.96
  4. STM Sports – 1.77
  5. Cambrian and Clydach Vale – 1.74
  6. Llanelli Town – 1.54
  7. Ammanford – 1.48
  8. Goytre United – 1.44
  9. Pontypridd Town – 1.40
  10. Afan Lido – 1.36
  11. Llantwit Major – 1.13
  12. Undy Athletic – 1.10
  13. Cwmbran Celtic – 1.0
  14. Taffs Well – 0.84
  15. Cwmamman United – 0.77
  16. Caerau Ely – 0.38

Swansea University would retain top spot, after an impressive season in the Cymru South, recording 56 points in 25 games.

Marginally behind would be Haverfordwest County, as the Bluebirds trail Swansea University in the current table by a single point.

As Briton Ferry Llansawel remain in third, the biggest movers would be STM Sports, as the club have a backlog of fixtures, due to their remarkable Nathaniel MG Cup campaign, reaching the final by knocking out Cymru Premier sides Newtown and Aberystwyth Town.

That would see both Cambrian and Clydach Vale and Llanelli Town drop a position, into fifth and sixth respectively.

All sides below Llanelli Town would remain in their current positions, as many teams have played a similar amount of games.

At the bottom of the table remain both Cwmamman United and Caerau Ely, with a points per game of 0.77 and 0.38 respectively.

The points per game method would provide a complete league table and is a realistic possibility, should the current Cymru South season be brought to an end.
