Gwent County League line-up finalised for the 2020/21 season

The Gwent County League looks to have been finalised for the 2020/21 season.

The Premier Division which is now the fourth level of the Welsh pyramid structure will run with 16 teams.

Albion Rovers, relegated from the Welsh League after failing to win a fixture all season are one of the clubs competing in the Gwent’s top tier.

Joining Albion Rovers in the division are Lucas Cwmbrân and Rogerstone, who have been promoted from Division One.

Following their promotion, Division One – the fifth tier of Welsh football – will run with 11 teams.

PILCS – relegated from the Premier Division – will compete in it alongside Cefn Fforest and Cwcarn Athletic have been promoted.

An outstanding dispute is Cwmcarn’s promotion to Division One with Nantyglo

A miscalculation of the points-per-game has excluded two of Cwmcarn’s matches.

No team was relegated to Division Two with bottom-placed FC Tredegar and second-from-bottom Clydach Wasps receiving a reprieve.

Cwmffwdoer Sports, Llanhilleth Athletic and Riverside Rovers however have been promoted from the local leagues.

Premier Division: Abercarn United, AC Pontymister, Albion Rovers, Blaenavon Blues, Caerleon, Cwmbrân Town, Lliswerry, Lucas Cwmbrân, Newport Civil Service, Newport Corinthians, Pill YMCA, Rogerstone, RTB Ebbw Vale, Villa Dino Christchurch, Wattsville and Ynysddu Welfare.
