Bangor City trio set to join Sambenedettese

Esteban Goicoechea, Gonzalo Laborda and Santiago Chacón are all set to join Italian outfit Sambenedettese from Bangor City.

Chacón has already been announced by the Italian third division side whilst Laborda and Goicoechea are in waiting.

I’m happy for them because it’s an important professional growth,” said manager Citizens boss Hugo Colace as he loses three first-team players.

Goicoechea was signed by Bangor City on the recommendation of Colace when the former Barnsley midfielder joined the club.

“I recommended him myself and now I have lost a warrior, the fans will love him,” said the 36-year-old.

Commenting on Chacón’s move, Colace said: “He will have no problem settling in because mentally he is a professional who knows how to play under pressure.

The goalkeeper Laborda also has a strong personality and is good at going out,” commented Colace on Laborda’s departure.

“He will have to learn Italian to be a leader. and communicate with the defensive line.”

Already, Bangor have lost Nicolas Delvecchio to Gibraltar Premier Division outfit Boca Gibraltar.

Former goalkeeper Jack Atkinson also left Nantporth to move to Stephen Vaughan Jr’s new side.
