Wattsville announce plans for 100-seat spectator stand

Wattsville have announced plans to erect a spectator stand at their ground.

The Gwent Premier Division side are in the process of applying for planning permission to allow them to put in place a 100-seater stand at their Wattsville Recreation Ground home.

If permission is granted, the club would be making steps towards securing a Tier Three Certificate, which would allow them to play in the Ardal Leagues.

Last year, Wattsville revealed plans to raise money to acquire their pitch side clubhouse.

In a short statement released on their social media platforms, the Gwent club said: “Wattsville will be applying for planning permission in coming weeks for a spectator stand to allow parents to watch their young children undercover.

“We also plan to invest in a concrete path around the perimeter of the grass area to allow spectators, dog walkers and more importantly allow wheelchair access in areas in which are currently not achievable to reach.”

Wattville’s senior side has been in existence for ten years and has seen a massive growth.

The Crusaders, the youth setup of the club were formed in 2017, with 120 junior boys and girls playing under the clubs name.
