New Saints make Jordan Williams their third summer signing

The New Saints have made winger Jordan Williams their third signing of the summer transfer window.

Williams, joins from National League side Stockport County after terms were met between the two clubs.

The 28-year-old had penned a two-year deal with Stockport in August 2020, however a fee agreed with the Manchester club has seen Williams swap Edgeley Park for Park Hall.

The Warrington-born attacker began his early career in the English non-league scene for Burscough and Northwich Victoria.

After two seasons with Barrow, where he scored 19 goals in 70 appearances, Williams earned a move to the Football League with Rochdale.

One season of that was with Lincoln City, where he made 11 outings, playing under the Cowley brothers.

Since leaving Rochdale, he has returned to the non-league scene with AFC Fylde, where he had five goals in 13 appearances. He since left to join Stockport and leaves after one season.

“I can not wait to get to get going, here is to a successful season,” tweeted Williams.

Commenting on their latest addition, manager Anthony Limbrick said: “We are really pleased with the signing of Jordan. He will add extra quality and options in the forward areas, being able to play anywhere across the front line.

“Jordan is a direct and aggressive forward who will bring goals and assists to the team.”

TNS’ Sporting Director, Gary Brabin, speaking on the interaction between the clubs, added: “I would like to thank Simon Wilson, Director of Football at Stockport County, for how professionally he acted throughout the whole negotiating process.”

TNS are currently on a tour of Scotland and will face East Fife in a friendly.

They have taken their first team squad and a number of academy players, including new signings Danny Davies and Declan McManus.
