Bala make double swoop as Sang and Southern thrust in immediately

Bala Town have made the double signing of Chris Sang and Oliver Southern as they continue to prepare for the 2021/22 Cymru Premier season.

Both players made their debuts in the Lakesiders’ Nathaniel MG Cup victory against Flint Town United on Saturday.

Southern, replaced Sean Smith in the 18th-minute, meanwhile Sang replaced fellow summer recruit Danny Walker-Rice early in the second half.

Forward Sang joins from National League outfit Wrexham.

The 22-year-old joined the Dragons in April on a non-contract basis and made three appearances as they missed out on a playoff spot.

An academy product of Wigan, Sang played mainly in the English non-league system, playing for the likes of Southport, Marine, and Altrincham.

He also had professional experience at both Bury, where he started his career and Barnsley.

The Liverpool-born forward takes up the number nine shirt which was previously held by Raul Correia, who left the club this summer.

In addition to Sang’s arrival, Oliver Southern also made the move to the Gwynedd.

A centre-midfielder for Curzon Ashton, the 19-year-old had spent a period on trial and did enough to impress Colin Caton to earn a deal.

As well as incomings, one of this summer’s departures from Bala have found a new club.

Defender Ryan Pryce, who made 18 appearances last season, has joined English non-league outfit Hednesford Town, subject to international clearance.

Pitmen manager Keenen Meakin-Richards said: “Ryan Pryce is a technically very good player that we welcome into the team.

“With experience in the Welsh Premier Leagues, he will add a lot of quality to the squad.

“With a number of clubs eyeing Pryce up from leagues above we are buzzing to beat off the competition to sign him”.

Other departures included Andrew Burns to Stafford Rangers, Liam Davies, and Stephen Kelly.
