The New Saints move into the third round of the JD Welsh Cup after a comfortable 6-0 victory against Llanrwst United at Park Hall.
The Oswestry side’s goals came from Louis Robles and Jake Canavan who both scored braces with Dean Ebbe and Jeanny Leblanc-Akpo getting the others.
It was a one-way affair throughout with the 13-time Cymru Premier champions dominating play.
In the opening minutes, Ryan Brobbel had a shot from 25-yards out that went over the Llanrwst crossbar.
The Saints broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Ash Baker whipped a ball into the box that Louis Robles connected with his head and scored past Owen.
Five minutes later, Anthony Limbrick’s team got a second as Jake Canavan had a shot from just outside the 18-yard area that went into the back of the net past Gwydion Owen’s left.
Not long after there was a third when a ball got played over the top and into the penalty area that Robles got a head-on which found the net with the winger getting a brace.
Coming towards the end of the first half Dean Ebbe got a goal. A through ball got played into the Irishman and scored past Owen’s right from inside the box.
Just before the hour mark, a ball crossed from Ryan Brobbel went into the penalty area which found academy graduate Canavan who got ahead on it and scored to get a brace.
Jeanny Leblanc-Akpo scored his first competitive goal for TNS right at the death. A pass across the box from Leo Smith to Leblanc-Akpo lead him to score past Owen’s left and into the net.
TNS will now take on Penybont at Bridgend in the Cymru Premier next Saturday.
