Wynne joins gap in goalkeeper coaching role

gap Connah’s Quay Nomads FC have appointed former club goalkeeper Ben Wynne as an academy goalkeeper coach.

19 year old Wynne joins Connah’s Quay having played for the Nomads’ academy for a number of years, making appearances against the likes of Real Madrid and Ajax’s academies before moving to Flint Town United in 2014.

He then enjoyed spells at Penyffordd and Hawarden Rangers before arriving at Connah’s Quay outfit FC Nomads, where he operates in a dual role as first team goalkeeper coach and reserve keeper.

In his new role, Wynne will coach Nomads’ academy keepers from ages U8-U19 as the club’s academy continues its emphasis on developing young and talented players.

Despite his young age Wynne has experience with some of football’s top goalkeeper coaches, having worked with Liverpool FC’s Mark Morris and John Achterberg.

Ben Wynne spoke to Y Clwb Pel Droed about his new role.

“I’m really pleased to be joining gap Connah’s Quay in this new role having spent so many years here at Deeside as a younger keeper myself.

“Nomads’ academy is second to none with a high quality of coaches and players across the board, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in developing up and coming goalkeepers for the club.”
