Conwy identify Thomas as successor to departing Pritchard

Conwy Borough have appointed Gareth Thomas as their new First Team Manager following the departure of Brian Pritchard.

Former Buckley Town manager Gareth Thomas has been appointed as new First Team Manager of Welsh Alliance League side Conwy Borough.

Conwy who were relegated to the Huws Gray Alliance after finishing second from bottom, only below one of Thomas’ former sides Buckley were seeking a new manager and have looked to the experienced manager as the face to front a promotion push.

Speaking to the official Conwy Borough website, ‘Perry’ discussed his appointment, revealing how it was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down after a meeting with the board as well as having ambitious plans to take the club into the Welsh Premier League.

“I am delighted to join the club after accepting the manager’s position. After meeting the board early in the week the challenge to get Conwy Borough back into the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance is one I couldn’t turn down.

“The club is ambitious and, after a poor season which resulted in relegation, they have set out the long term plans, and it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to.
“Off the pitch; the club has everything in place to challenge for the Welsh Premier League but the first priority is to get club back into the Cymru Alliance. This won’t be easy as there some good sides in the Welsh Alliance and it will be a hard league.”
