Major coup for Penrhyndeudraeth as Iwan Williams appointed manager
CPD Penrhyndeudraeth have appointed Iwan Williams as their new first-team manager.
Williams, who possesses the highest qualification in professional football, UEFA Pro Licence, can be seen as a major coup for the North Wales Coast League outfit.
He will replace Barry Evans, who will remain at the club as a player-assistant manager.
Most recently, Williams was working as part of the coaching team at National League North outfit Chester FC under Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley.
The 36-year-old’s last experience in the dugout was with his hometown team Llandudno in the Cymru Premier.
Prior to his move to Maesdu Park, Williams was manager of Caernarfon Town, where he won the Cymru Alliance and League Cup.
Williams first job will be to help lead to them to into new Welsh pyramid system. The Cockles were demoted following the end of the Welsh Alliance League.
The Gwynedd club were not admitted to the Ardal Leagues, which were due to start this season.
Most recently however, the club have worked hard to bring their ground up to standard.
A new 100-seater stand has been erected at their Maes y Parc ground.
