Dinas Powys look to Luck after Giles stands down

Dinas Powys have appointed player Ben Luck as their new first team manager following the departure of Paul Giles.

Giles took Dinas to their highest finish in four years before his departure, guiding them to a 12th placed finish in Division Two after being appointed manager in the summer.

The young manager who will be in the dugout at The Murch for the 2017/2018 season had previously played for Cwmbran Celtic, AFC Porth and Newport City under the name of Llanwern.

Dinas have decided to promote from within by appointing Luck who suffered a serious injury which has left him unable to play for the club again.

The Villagers released a short statement on Twittter, wishing Luck well upon his appointment.

“His young exciting outlook on the game and the professionalism he brings to the club it’s an extremely exciting time for us. We would like to wish him all the best for 2017/18.”

Ben himself then took to Twitter to thank the club for giving him the chance to manage the club he played for before his injury.
