Llanrwst United in fundraising appeal after flood wreckage

Llanrwst United’s former player Mike Lundstram is attempting to raise £2000 to help the club after their home Ground was flooded.

The area suffered huge rainfall last week, and the club’s Gwydir Park Ground has been flooded as a result.

The club share their ground with the local cricket club, and it is unclear whether the Welsh Alliance League Division One club will be able to fulfil their home fixtures for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

The club have revealed that the barriers and one goalmouth have been ruined beyond repair.

They have appealed for help to be able to fix the ground in order to complete the rest of their season.

They sent out an appeal on Twitter, stating “After record floods in Llanrwst, we awoke this morning (Sunday) to find our pitch and its facilities in a terrible mess.

“Any help would be most helpful. We will struggle to get over this.”

But now former player Lundstrom is trying to raise money to help the club to be able to repair the pitch.

Lundstrom was a key figure for the club for a number of years, before leaving to join Penmaenmawr Phoenix in the summer.

Those who wish to donate are able to do so online at GoFundMe at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/michael-lundstram.
