RECAP: The New Saints claim seventh Welsh Cup after beating Nomads

Live updates from the 132nd JD Welsh Cup Final at The Rock between Cup holders Connah’s Quay and Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints.

Andy Morrison’s side cruised past Cardiff Metropolitan to book a second consecutive Welsh Cup final, whilst The New Saints beat Barry Town United in the semi-final stage.

Neither side played a home game on their route to the final.

The New Saints will be without Aeron Edwards, whilst Jake Phillips will be absent for the Nomads, having played for Bangor in the previous rounds.

This is the second final the Nomads will play in this season after losing the Irn-Bru Cup final to Ross County.

The New Saints will be hopeful of winning the Welsh Cup for the first time since 2016, having lost in the 2017 final to Bala Town.
