Chris Davies has stepped down as manager of Mid Wales League club Carno after more than seven years in charge.

The Powys side are in Mid Table in Division One, 14 points off of league leaders Llanidloes Town.

A club statement read: “We’re saddened to announce that Chris Davies is leaving the club today after seven seasons in charge at Ty Brith.

“His resignation was reluctantly accepted on Wednesday.

“Everyone at the club thanks him for his time at the club and for the success he brought under sometimes difficult times.

“The club as always will look to move forward and will be looking for a replacement as soon as possible.

“If there are any interested parties then we invite applications.”

Davies’ last game in charge was a 1-0 defeat in the League Cup to Machynlleth.

He had a brief spell away from the club, where Jonathan Evans took temporary charge.

Carno’s highest finish under Davies was a second-place finish in 2016.

The club also won the Central Wales and Montgomeryshire Cup during his tenure.
