Tributes paid after passing of Welsh League manager

Tributes have poured in following the passing of Penrhiwceiber Rangers manager Steve Haggett. 

Penrhiwceiber Rangers shared the news of his death on Friday afternoon, posting: “It is with deep sadness to announce that our great manager and friend Steve Haggett has sadly passed away. 

“Our thoughts go out to Colleen, Danielle, Mellisa and the wider family.”

“Tomorrow’s game is on after discussion with the family as a mark of respect to Steve. RIP my friend.”

Fellow Welsh League club Pontyclun said: “Terrible news guys. Our sincere condolences. Steve was a football man through & through. Will be missed by all.”

Treharris Athletic Western added: “Awful news. Our thoughts are with you, and friends & family at this sad time.

Newport City, who Penrhiwceiber will be playing tomorrow said: “Such sad news, deepest condolences to all of Steve’s family and also everyone involved with the club.”
