Holyhead Town: Harbourmen reportedly withdraw from Welsh Alliance League
Holyhead Town have reportedly asked to withdraw from the Welsh Alliance League.
The Anglesey outfit will look to remain in the Welsh system by prioritising their reserve team.
The North Wales Chronicle report that Holyhead Town want to pull out of the fourth tier of Welsh football.
In the report, it states a message was sent to the playing staff of the Harbourmen.
It read: “We are absolutely gutted it’s come to this, but we can’t keep going on like this.
“We have tried everything possible to keep it going and this club in the Welsh Alliance.
“We have currently nine first-team players out of the next three games with injuries, suspensions and work/family commitments.
“We have made the decision to ask the Welsh Alliance to drop out of the league for the season.
“This does not mean the club will be folding at all, but we will be keeping the Holyhead Town name going through the reserves in the Anglesey league until end of the season were we can assess the situation again.”
“We’re sorry it’s come to this but it seriously getting out of control and we will end up with no club in the end.”
Players will be welcome to join the reserves side but the club will not stand in the way of players who seek pastures new, the report adds.
Holyhead Town’s reserve squad is currently ninth in the Anglesey League.

Town rivals Holyhead Hotspur currently lead the Welsh Alliance League Division One.
Holyhead Town currently sit seventh in Division Two of the Welsh Alliance League, with 19 points picked up from an available 33.
