Newtown have announced the signings of James O’Neill and Jordan Evans.

Centre-back O’Neill returns to Latham Park after spending six years away, most recently playing for Chasetown, whilst Evans moves from Airbus UK.

Tweeting about his return, O’Neill said: I’m happy to be back, hopefully we can get going sooner rather than later.”

Evans, 24, made 16 appearances for the Wingmakers in the 2019-2020 season, scoring once.

The Welshman began his career with Wrexham’s academy, and returned to the club in 2016 following a spell at Fulham.

He then joined Bala Town in 2017 and went on to make 34 appearances for the Lakesiders, scoring four times, including an equaliser in the Welsh Cup final victory over The New Saints.

Jamie Breese: Caernarfon forward returns to Newtown

The Robins finished 6th in the 2019-20 Cymru Premier, winning 10, drawing five and losing 10 of their 25 league matches.

The versatile left-sided player has since played for Cefn Druids and most latterly Airbus UK in the Cymru Premier, and becomes Newtown’s third signing of the summer.

Evans and O’Neill follow the arrival of Jamie Breese and George Hughes to Latham Park.
